The Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Summit, co-sponsored with Hands On
Atlanta, is a conference exploring the ways in which ordinary citizens can make
a difference in the world. The three-day conference concludes on Monday,
January 21st with diverse community service projects throughout Atlanta
in honor of Dr. King. The conference brings home The King Holiday
theme:
Remember! Celebrate! Act!

SunTrust volunteers polish the woodwork at historic Ebenezer Baptist
Church

Volunteers participate in a story-telling workshop at the Old Fourth
Ward oral history project.

Mamie Hughley, one of the Reynoldstown Quilters, shared her craft and
her personal history with volunteers.

The Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble inspired an audience
of 2,000 on Monday with their dramatic presentation of the civil rights
struggle in apartheid South Africa in their performance of
Soweto.

Deloitte & Touche/Deloitte Consulting volunteers and community
volunteers help to renovate the historic Slaton Elementary School into a
new neighborhood charter school.
